Preventing Water Pollution

Here are some simples tips on preventing water pollution:

- Turn off the tap when you don't need to use it, like when brushing your teeth. This helps stop water shortages and reduces the amount of contaminated water that needs treatment.
- Don't throw things out onto the streets, roads, rivers, oceans, and any other places besides a trashcan or better yet - a recycle bin. The trash can float over to the ocean, and many animals will be able to choke on it, and the different chemicals can infect the water, and many people and animals who depend on the water could catch a deadly disease from the water. Also, animals could get stuck in the trash and get sick from eating it.
- Don't throw anything toxic or any other trash that doesn't belong in the toilet or sink like paint and oil.
- Have more plants, because it prevents fertilizer, pesticide and contaminated water to enter nearby water source.
- Don't use too much pesticides or fertilizer, because it can run into water sources nearby.
- Pick up trash that you see lying around
